Are you looking for a fun, safe and challenging sport for your child to turn them self upside down, rather than your house? Gymnastics is the sport for you!

Mordialloc Gymnastics is focused on the State Stream program.
We provide a range of recreational gymnastics classes from beginners to senior levels.

Class Attire

Suitable, comfortable clothing is needed in order for the children to be able to participate and perform their skills at gymnastics. Leotards, track pants, leggings, shorts with a tshirt, and a warm top for winter is required. The children work in bare feet.

Please note: Always remember to bring a drink bottle. No denim clothing and no buttons on clothing please.

Women's Artistic Gymnastics:

  • - Enhances co-ordination and agility, for body awareness and balance
  • - Develops posture and confident body movement, including the ability to land safely
  • - Enhances creativity and builds self-confidence, for sport and life
  • - Develops strength and flexibility, for life's constant challenges
  • - Develops healthy minds and bodies for now and later life

Gymnastics Involves:

Dominant Movement Patterns are basic movements from which all sporting activities are derived. They are the building blocks for your child's physical development and sporting prowess.

Locomotion: coordination of movement in different forms such as running, hopping, skipping and changing directions. Great for all ball sports, cheerleading and athletics.

Landing: controlled and safe landings in various situations and positions. Essential for body contact sports, sport aerobics and unstructured play.

Swing: moving freely while hanging and controlling the body in the air. Important in diving, rock climbing, pole vault, windsurfing and many extreme sports.

Rotation: turning around in different direction through movements such as rolls, twists and turns. Assists in dodging and evading opposition. Essential for aerial skiing. acrobatics and skateboarding.

Static Positions: performed in 'support', 'hang' and 'balance', and determines one's stability. This is vital for all sports including surfing, BMX, dance and circus activities.

Spring: jumping and leaping from one or two feet. hands, or a combination of both. Valuable in most team sports and for trampoline, rhythmic gymnastics and aerobics.

Kindy Gym! - Climb, Jump & Sing

Kindygym is a professionally structured program for children aged 12 months to 5 years.

Kindygym focuses on developing your child's gross and fine motor skills, strength, coordination and imagination in a fun environment.

Gross motor skills are jumping, landing, swinging, rotation, running etc. Fine motor skills are developed through using balls, bean bags, bats etc. Your child's learning is stimulated through the creative use of music, songs and colour.

Classes are divided into age groups, and run every day in sessions that follow the school term.

Please note, our Kindygym program is specifically designed so that each parent / carer can have enjoyable, safe and quality time with their child on a one to one basis. The size of our room does not allow for siblings during these classes. We allow 1 make up classes per term due to illness.
